Walrus Productions was started by Larry Wall and Kathleen Russell in 1979 - they came up with the name Walrus by combining their last names together. In 1992 they published their first book based on one of their best selling posters from 1988 “The Road to Success is Always Under Construction”. Overall they published 12 books selling over 438,000 copies. In 1992 they also designed a poster called “Guitar Chords” and began to sell to music stores nationwide. Over 3.5 million of those posters have been sold - making it one of the best selling posters in the world! In 2003 they changed their business model and designed and sold mini laminated chord charts for multiple instruments and the business took off from there! In 2023 Bryan Stringer took over the company and continues to run it with Larry serving as consultant.
